Haydon Switch & Instrument is a global manufacturer of high performance stepper motor based linear actuators. Other products include lead screw assemblies, stepper motor drives and switches.
Haydon Switch & Instrument sought to improve its online aesthetic presence and more dominantly position itself as a major innovator and developer in the global market.
Haydon Switch & Instrument had several products that required a logically tiered structure to navigate, and dozens of technical drawings that required individual branding for easy identification apart from the website if downloaded. Functionally, HS & I wanted users to have the appropriate actuator options recommended based on client specifications.
ISM created a dynamically generated website redesign that included several custom functionality requirements: collapsible navigation, an actuator selector, newsletter registration, site search, rep locator, rep login, product news, 2D / 3D model access, and printable pages. Balancing user-based design with page optimization resulted in cleanly and consistently formatted pages that rank well (typically top 5) for mission critical search strings like “hybrid linear actuator” and “rotary stepper motor”.
This site redesign is the result of successful collaborative planning and technical execution. HS & I reports that site visitors find the actuator selector a useful recommendation tool, and that they have seen a marked improvement in the quantity and quality of quote requests received, including a credible request for as many as 50,000 units. Since completion, the site has been translated into Chinese, and the Tritex Corporation parent site was redesigned to model the HS & I. site.
